Week 04
3D Animatic (Blocking)
In week4, I finished the 3d animatic (blocking) from shot22 to shot32. Sorry about I still haven’t redo the shot1 to shot5. I got a little cold this week, spent one day having rest. It set the plan back, I have to follow the plan first. The shot1 to shot5 will be figured out in week5.
About the sound and the facial expression. I will make them in week5 too.
Constrain problem in shot23
To let the character carry bowls, slip them on the ground, and pick them again. I figure out some constrain problem in week4.
Commonly, if I want the character catch something, the only thing I need to do is parent character's hand controller and the bowl controller (constrain_ parent) when the moment that the character need to catch the bowl, I just need open the FKWrist in the attribute window, and give it a key frame.
But in shot23, character need to hold the bowl, slip it, and catch the bowl again. Slipping means that the bowl need to get the key frames on it's main controller after it loses the constrain of the hand controller. I found out that, when I key frame the main controller, the object will not follow the hand controller again.
After testing , I found out, I also need to open the Blend Parent (in attribute window). When I open the blend parent, the object will follow the hand controller, when I close it, it will follow it's Location Key Frame again.
However, when the character needs to catch the object again, I can't let the character hold the object through opening the FKWrist. It will cause a new problem that the object will jump into the hand in one frame. because the relative position between hand controller and bowl controller has already changed. The solution I found out is build a new parent constrain between the bowl controller and a new finger controller. Each time the hand need to catch the bowl, I will build a new constrain between bowl and another finger controller. I'm not sure if it's a correct way to solve the problem. But at least, It works now.
week4 rigging
week4 models
In week4, I finished these clay bowls, rock needle, branch’s models and rigging.
In shot32, I painted an 2d butterfly in the 3d scene. The time line is hard to match, after I improve the 3D performance in the future, the motion of butterfly must be redo. But now it’s just an idea that how the 2D part looks like in my 3D animation.
